About Sophie.

Hello

My name’s Sophie and I'm the Director of Birdy Communications, an independent branding and communications consultancy.

I began my professional career in academic publishing, working closely with psychology authors from around the world. I then transitioned from publishing into charitable communications, which eventually led me to the social impact sector.

Before founding Birdy Communications, I was the Communications Manager at the Skoll Centre, a social impact research centre based at the University of Oxford and funded by the Skoll Foundation. I played a key role in the senior leadership team—advising on strategy, identifying promising opportunities and partnerships—and led their rebranding project from 2022 to 2023.

In my free time, you’ll find me reading, on a dog walk, starting a new DIY or gardening project, or drinking coffee somewhere in East Oxford.

If you’re interested in working together, feel free to get in touch to arrange a no-obligation discovery call.

You can come with a fully formed plan, or simply have a couple of questions in mind. We’ll chat about your work and explore what you’d like to achieve from working together.

If I don’t believe my expertise will benefit you, I will do my best to refer you to another specialist I recommend.
